History
- Re-Gen was formed following extensive research which took us across the globe observing and comparing “best in class”
technologies and processing methodologies many of which have been implemented or improved upon at our Newry plant.
- As our roots are in the construction sector we built the plant ourselves with Aidan Doherty
(Commercial Director) as Project Manager.
(Aidan was the NI NHBC “Site Manager of the Year” and a runner – up in the overall UK Competition in 2004).
- We commenced trading in 2004, taking in 6,500 tonnes towards the end of the year, with Newry & Mourne District Council being our first contracted customer.
- Since then we have processed over 300,000 tonnes of co-mingled dry recyclables and now take materials from all across the Island of Ireland (Cork to Donegal)
and all across the UK (Scotland to Central London).
- Re-Gen Waste is a family run company, with a very strong ethos with respect to partnership and corporate social responsibility.

We are corporate members of the Chartered Institute of Wastes Management and the Association for Organic Recycling. We are also fully
compliant with the requirements of the Recycling Registration Service and our systems and processes with respect to end markets are regularly
audited by this and other independent bodies. 4 of our 5 directors have achieved Level 4 Certificates of Technical Competence in Waste
Management Industry Training and Advisory Board.
